Ramble Time
Okay, so we are going to do something different today. In the next two installments of the ROH On HonorClub Collection series, we will be focusing on two specific main events that occurred the most recent HonorClub Exclusive Events. This is my own version of a sequel to Its Don Callis’ World. We’re Just Living In It by Sicko’s Club own, Neon Ghost, who is a workhorse and goes to follow his social media channels.
So in a world that is orchestrated by someone with a public enemy reputation and shiny bald head that you want to slap so badly like to create Ricochet memes. Don Callis really has had a grip on the wrestling world like a villain at the top of the throne. However, whenever there is a Supervillain, there is a Superhero. The current ROH World Champion Bandido has been the Batman to Don Callis’s Joker as he has been in many battles since winning his second Ring Of Honor World Title from Chris Jericho at All Elite Wrestling Dynasty II event. So Callis has sent obstacles to bring the top prize of Ring Of Honor back to the Family.

The programme has detected an incoming enemy sent by Don Callis. This difficulty has risen to its own level. It is called the Alpha Difficulty. A man that has been in love with pro wrestling and had turned into a darker light by the bald eggman. Takeshita showed to take a new step in the ring and showed his true potential being explored in New Japan. Introducing the Raging Fire in G1 CLIMAX 34, he has added an extra layer to his already diverse moveset. He is now the 1st hurdle to Bandido’s ROH World Championship at Ring Of Honor SUPERCARD OF HONOR!
Match Time
With that being said, live from the Esports Stadium in Arlington. In the main event, it’s Bandido defending the Ring Of Honor World Championship against Konosuke Takeshita. Let’s roll with all.
The match starts off with a collar and elbow tie up. Both men start off with chain wrestling that I won’t dive further into because we have a lot to talk about and I am trying to find a balance between being relaxed and being extremely detailed. As both men were on equal footing, they went back to chain wrestling. Pro Wrestling is funny like that sometimes. They are really good moments throughout these chain wrestling exchanges, but there are loads more crazy things to mention. Also I forgot to mention that Don Callis is on commentary. Now look, I’m not the biggest fan of his commentary especially in certain big title bouts like this which wasn’t for long, but he is brilliant. The exchange ended as both men swept each other’s legs for quick covers as they got up to their feet.
Bandido has Takeshita in a side headlock, only for Takeshita to move back to the ropes to push him across. Bandido runs the ropes as Takeshita back elbows him. Takeshita ran to the ropes, but Bandido ran to the same side as he was coming back to the centre. Takeshita uses his quick reflexes to try for the Tilt-A-Whirl Backbreaker, but Bandido floats over to get out. The World Champion followed up with a Wheelbarrow into a Wristlock Arm Drag. Bandido went for the Baseball Slide Dropkick, but Takeshita dodged that one. Both men went back to the ring and had a pose off. Takeshita kicked her in the midsection. Bandido reverses the Irish whip to send Takeshita to the ropes and hops over him with a Leapfrog. Bandido rolled back as Takeshita forward rolled over it. Bandido moves across as he did a Tilt-A-Whirl into the Hurricanrana and follows up with a dropkick on Takeshita.
Bandido starts to stomp on Takeshita which led to Callis complaining on commentary. Both men entered into a strike exchange and then entered into a Test Of Strength. Takeshita tripped the legs in the hold, but Bandido laced in the cross legs as a way to pull off the headscissors. This happened to counter two pinfall attempts. As Bandido trapped Takeshita in the headscissors, some dude in the crowd yelled, “CALLIS FAMILY!!” And the crowd immediately started booing and even responded, “FUCK THAT GUY”. Even Bandido gestured about it, it’s really funny. Bandido kept shoulder tackling him in the midsection in the corner. When Bandido charged up for the Spear in the corner, Takeshita moved and the World Champion went careering to the post. Takeshita did it again to send him to the outside. Takeshita traps him in the hammerlock and pushes Bandido’s shoulder to the post. Back in the ring, Takeshita kept going at the arm before locking in the Fujiwara. He really wrenched on the hold as Bandido to the ropes.
Takeshita tried to go for the back suplex, but Bandido uses both of his arms to get out. Takeshita pulled him back by the tights to go for the Back Suplex once again. Bandido floats over to go backwards to the corner. Takeshita got blocked twice and Bandido followed up with a Tornillo from the top turnbuckle. Back up to their feet, Bandido’s kick got blocked, but Takeshita’s kick also got blocked and the World Champion screwed his leg with a Dragon Screw. Bandido kicked him in the midsection again and ran from the ropes to do Code Red (Sunset Flip Powerbomb) for a two count. As they were in separate corners, Bandido connected with a running big boot to Takeshita in the corner. Takeshita answered back with a Yakuza Kick (Running Big Boot) to Bandido in the corner. He follows up with German Suplex, but Bandido pops up only for Takeshita to follow up with a Blue Thunder Bomb for another nearfall. Bandido dodged the Power-Drive Knee and connected with a multitude of kicks. Takeshita blocked another one and swung and missed on the lariat. Bandido fires back with a single leg dropkick.
Bandido had him in prime position for the 21-Plex. Takeshita sunk his hips to stop the momentum and even used it to launch Bandido onto the apron. It’s now time for the disrespect as Takeshita starts ripping at the mask. Don Callis got off the commentary desk and skipped his way to the ring like he’s a giddy child. Rocky Romero appeared from the Starship Enterprise and handed Takeshita a steel chair. Takeshita went to crush Bandido’s head with a chair, but luckily Bandido moved. Bandido went to go for the Tope Suicida, but Takeshita took the chair and held it up as Bandido’s head went crashing into it. That ended up busting him open as Takeshita dragged Bandido up the ramp. Bandido got dropped on his head with the Vertical Drop Brainbuster by Takeshita. Despite having low energy, Bandido got back in the ring at the count of 19. Takeshita did the American version of antagonism. He really is an International wrestler. He continued this by biting the exposed part of Bandido’s face from the mask in the corner. He starts to SLOW IT DOWN with a chin lock on the champion. Apparently, it was bad as Referee Brandon Martinez had to lift up his arm to ensure he wasn’t knocked out. This is funny because of the camera angle of which we see the look on Bandido’s face. Bandido is starting to get fired up as he managed to get Takeshita up for a big suplex.
Bandido kicked Takeshita in the corner, and dodged another Yakuza Kick in the corner to counterattack with a Poisonrana. Bandido was primed for the 21-Plex, but when he realised Takeshita was already on the outside, the World Champion continued the build up and hit the Tope Con Hilo on The Alpha. Back in the ring, Bandido hit the Frog Splash from the top for another nearfall. Bandido drop toe holds Takeshita to the middle turnbuckle and kicks him in his face to cause him to stumble backwards. Bandido side flips over his back to go to the corner, but Takeshita pulls him back by his pants. Bandido back elbowed his way and went for some high manoeuvre only to switch to another side pin attempt for a two count. Bandido continued with Butterfly Facebuster another nearfall and applied the Castle Mutilation afterwards. Takeshita was escaping so Bandido uses that to use the Crucifix attempt for another nearfall. Both men engaged in a lariat exchange and followed up with a strike exchange that ended with Bandido connecting with a brutal Uraken (Backfist) before Takeshita got the Windup Elbow. Bandido saw the opportunity and once again went for the 21-Plex, but Takeshita flipped out as well and clocked him with Superkick and re-clocked him with an X-Knee which left Takeshita in primed position. Bandido finally hit the 21-Plex for a crazy nearfall.
After another attack, both men are up the top and Bandido slams Takeshita with a Moonsault Slam for another nearfall. Bandido went back to the top and went for an actual Shooting Star Press. But Takeshita got the knees up into a Small Package for a two count. Bandido runs to the ropes and when Takeshita pops him up, Bandido connects with a crazy Hurricanrana only for Takeshita to hook his arms with his legs into the Surprise Rollup for a two count. Both men are back to their feet as Bandido flying kicks him in the face. Bandido removed his kneepad with the Kinesio Tape around it. He picks up Takeshita again and knees him in the midsection. Bandido went for the 21-Plex again, but got caught as Takeshita hit the Bastard Driver (Cradle Tombstone Piledriver) and followed up with Wheelbarrow Suplex. Takeshita connects with a brutal Power-Drive Knee and Bandido counts at ONE which causes the crowd to explode.
Ian Riccaboni: “UNBELIEVABLE”
Caprice Coleman: “What is it gonna take?”
Ian Riccaboni: “UNBELIEVABLE!!!”
Caprice Coleman: “Are these human beings?!”
Ian Riccaboni: “He’s not human Caprice! He’s BANDIDO!”
Takeshita connects with the Straight Murder (Charged Elbow Splash) and goes for the Raging Fire (Spinning Falcon Arrow). Bandido counters that into the Most Devastating Move in All Of Sports Entertainment, the Surprise Rollup to get 1, 2, 3. That means Bandido has retained the Ring Of Honor World Championship.
Post Match: Hechicero and Rocky Romero appear from the stage. Hechicero steps up as the next challenger for the Ring Of Honor World Championship. And that will be a different story for a different day.
ZERO: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐3/4
Post Ramble Time
This is my favourite men’s match this year and it is going to take a big match to change my mind. 30 Minutes of brilliance and frustration at the same time. The reason why I say frustrated is because I was worried that Takeshita would win the title since he was going to do the G1 CLIMAX 35 Tournament and given Tony Khan’s track record for giving the title, I was immediately worried. THANK GOD that didn’t happen. I do recommend this match in particular as it is a Match Of The Year Candidate.
