Stardom 5STAR GP Lineup
I did this for Best Of The Super Juniors earlier this year, so I am going to do it here for the woman as well and the G1 as well, but I digress.
Stardom have announced the participants, blocks & the full schedule for their annual round robin tournament, the 5STAR Grand Prix. This tournament will be on July 27th and end on August 23rd. Much like the articles I did for the BOSJ, I will be going through each competitor and give my thoughts on each of them. I will also write down the blocks that they are in and every match that will happen in the tournament. I know that is a lot, but I am going to manage it as much as I can. Especially since there are 32 wrestlers in 4 blocks, but I digress.
I understand that my knowledge on Joshi Wrestling is about as knowledgeable as wet fish, but I will do my best regardless.
The Participants
Hanan [STARS]
Goddesses Of Stardom Champion
With the STARS going through a shift with the departures of many members, Hanan will have a lot to prove as the leader. Hanan has been reigning as Goddesses Of Stardom Champions with tag partner Saya Iida and having some fun matches. Given everything that has happened with STARS so far, I do think that Hanan might get to the Playoffs, but won’t win.
Saya Iida [STARS]
Goddesses Of Stardom Champion
Saya Iida has been proving a great tag team wrestler alongside her tag partner Hanan. I don’t think she is going to the Playoffs, but anything can happen when it comes to professional wrestling. Especially round robin tournaments. Her power can make a difference for the matches in her block, but I will get to the blocks later.
Momo Kohgo [STARS]
The last STARS member to be in the tournament is Momo Kohgo. Kohgo has been positioned in STARDOM as the loveable loser. Sometimes, it seems like it was not going to be the case two years ago when she tried challenging for the NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship, but that didn’t go well. I wouldn’t be picking her to win, but she will gain points and I’m sure of it.
Natsupoi [Cosmic Angels]
With the retirement of Tam Nakano lingering with Cosmic Angels, Natsupoi has been seemingly in the main event scene after failing to capture the Goddesses Of Stardom Championships with Saori Anou. In last year’s tournament, Natsupoi was able to make it to quarterfinals. With the current lineup for this year’s tournament, Natsupoi might make the semifinals or the finals.
Saori Anou [Cosmic Angels]
Saori Anou had an interesting 5STAR last year. She was able to gain 7 points, but wasn’t able to make it to the Quarterfinals due to 2 losses. Those losses would be against AEW’s Anna Jay and Koguma. At the time of writing, Anou will be challenging Starlight Kid for the Wonder Of Stardom Championship (or the White Belt) on July 21st. Saori Anou will have the possibility of making the Playoffs.
Yuna Mizumori [Cosmic Angels]
I find Yuna Mizumori pretty entertaining. She is what I find a fun wrestler and goofy wrestling for life… when needed. Given the void that needs to be filled after Tam Nakano retired, Yuna can hopefully find her place after feeling out of place. I don’t think she will make the finals, but will have some matches different from the rest.
Aya Sakura [Cosmic Angels]
Sendai Girls World Junior Champion
Aya Sakura is someone I haven’t watched much if I have to admit. But I would be lying if I admit that I wasn’t hearing any praise. She is currently the Sendai Girls World Junior Champion at the time of writing, which is a title from the promotion, Sendai Girls. I won’t see getting far, I’m willing to think that she might get close to qualifying.
I know that it has been painful to see these descriptions, but bare with me.
Sayaka Kurara [Cosmic Angels]
Sayaka Kurara has been involved in major feuds since she debuted in Christmas of 2023. This will be her first 5STAR GP and I was surprised until I realised she has only been wrestling for over a year and a half. She has a high chance of making it to the Playoff and maybe the finals, but that would be a stretch.
Ami Sourei [God’s Eye]
Ami Sourei has only recently returned to action. She has been on commentary on Stardom shows as she wasn’t able to compete. She will return on The Conversion show on June 21st and will be in the tournament. I don’t think Sourei will make it far in the tournament, but then again, you are a description being written by me.
Hina [God’s Eye]
Future Of Stardom Champion
Hina has really been showing out as the Future Of Stardom Champion. There isn’t a bad thing I have seen online about her run and with her next defence being against Sayaka Kurara, I have hopes. Hina will likely not win at all, but she will have a chance to advance in other divisions in the promotion. Maybe at high speed, but I don’t know how fast she is.
Lady C [God’s Eye]
From what I have seen from Lady C, there has been a vast improvement from her. Honestly, I was surprised when I first saw Lady C. She has the height that makes her stand out, but something didn’t seem to click for me at that time. Lady C will likely not make the Playoffs, but given the lineup, I might be proven wrong. It is a round robin tournament afterall.
Ranna Yagami [God’s Eye]
One of my favourite feuds of this year is Ranna Yagami and Koguma. That was the pure definition of goofy wrestling for life and it made me love them more. Yagami is fun to watch in the ring and has been involved in moments that can make me laugh my ass off. I will admit that I am wishing her the best.
Tomoka Inaba [God’s Eye]
Tomoka Inaba of God’s Eye is an interesting case. She has a fun style, but I haven’t watched enough of her matches to give a full opinion. Inaba will probably be close to making the Playoffs, but that’s just me pulling the prediction out of my ass at this point.
Waka Tsukiyama [Empress Nexus Venus]
New Blood Tag Team Champion
Waka Tsukiyama is a wrestler that I need to watch more matches in order to get a good opinion on this. She does do English commentary, which is still surprising when I first discovered her. I don’t think she will make it far, especially with the brackets and the position she is in current.
(Zero Thoughts: Okay, I am trying my best and even I am confusing myself with this.)
HANAKO [Empress Nexus Venus]
New Blood Tag Team Champion
HANAKO is a very tall woman. I know that is an odd thing to point out, but I have to say that was the most surprising thing I saw when I first discovered her. HANAKO has been involved in more high title positions this year. Her biggest challenge to date was when she challenged Starlight Kid for the Wonder Of Stardom Championship. I have a slight hunch that she might make the Playoffs, but most likely not.
Rian [Empress Nexus Venus]
Rian is definitely not winning this tourney. She is a fun wrestler that has a unique rollup attempt that makes the opponent prepare for the worst, because you might lose. Rian is really fun to watch as an underdog. Her Rianators have faith in her, so good luck Rian.
Starlight Kid [Neo Genesis]
Wonder Of Stardom Champion
Artist Of Stardom Champion
Starlight Kid is a really great wrestler. She has had an interesting year as both Wonder Of Stardom Champion and ⅓ of the Artist Of Stardom Champion. I don’t think she will win the tournament. This is mainly because when it comes to round robin tournaments, if you are a champion, you are unlikely to win the whole thing. I didn’t mention this, because I kinda forgot about it.
AZM [Neo Genesis]
Artist Of Stardom Champion
NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion
AZM has been having a really good year of matches and fun moments. She has evolved from the High Speed division into a higher position. Her winning the NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship was a great moment, even though I wish Mercedes took the pin, but I digress. And in a current feud with Bozilla, which is very funny given the size difference. Do I think she is going to win? No and I don’t know why I said that.
Mei Seira [Neo Genesis]
High Speed Champion
Mei Seira has been entering my timelines on online wrestling forums over the past year. She has been fun to watch with a quick display of moves while developing new tricks with some opponents. I do think she is winning the tournament, but will have a great showing.
Miyu Amasaki [Neo Genesis]
Artist Of Stardom Champion
Miyu Amasaki is very odd to me. Better known by western fans as Kevin, Amasaki is someone that I need to watch more matches of. I don’t think she is winning but Kevin will have a good showing. I hope so.
Suzu Suzuki [Mi Vida Loca]
Suzu Suzuki has had a transformation this year. She had betrayed Neo Genesis to form her own faction called Mi Vida Loca. Suzu has been known for being one of the most versatile wrestlers in wrestling today. She will definitely be the darkhouse of this whole tournament. I honestly hope that she will get to the finals of the tournament. At the end of the day, it all depends on what happens over the course of the next few weeks.
Bozilla [Mi Vida Loca]
Bozilla has made waves in the world of Joshi. Making her debut in Dream Star Fighting Marigold, she has proven to be a great monster gaijin in the promotion. She made her debut for STARDOM at The Conversion in Shibuya by helping Mi Vida Loca defeat Neo Genesis. She is also a brand new member of Mi Vida Loca as well. I am predicting that she will make the Playoffs to the semi finals.
Saya Kamitani [H.A.T.E.]
World Of Stardom Champion
Regina Di WAVE Champion
In my opinion, the best women’s wrestler of 2025. Saya Kamitani has been having fantastic matches over the past year as part of the faction, H.A.T.E. Kamitani has been doing well as the top champion of the promotion and I wouldn’t be if Saya makes it to the finals. I know this will be unlikely, but pro wrestling is known for having ridiculous stuff, so who knows.
Natsuko Tora [H.A.T.E.]
People do tend to forget that Natsuko Tora is the actual leader of H.A.T.E. I can’t blame you if you have forgotten this. Natsuko Tora is known for her shenanigans. A lot of shenanigans. She will definitely be the spoiler of this tourney.
Momo Watanabe [H.A.T.E.]
Great. More HATE members to cover up for. Just kidding, I like Momo Watanabe. Seeing her kick Mayu Iwatani’s head like she is a soccer ball has been ingrained into my brain. She made some waves overseas and her TBS title did expose her to new people. With that being said, I don’t think she is winning at all. Is she making it to the Playoffs? Maybe.
Konami [H.A.T.E.]
Great. Another HATE member. Konami. Someone who I haven’t watched much, but I hear her name more times than Lily Phillips and Bonnie Blue breaking sex records. My only exposure to Konami was through 8 woman tag team matches. I don’t know much about her as a singles wrestler, and that is all. I don’t think she will win the tourney.
Ruaka [H.A.T.E.]
Okay. I know Ruaka is another HATE member, but there is one thing I want to know. Why is she called Violet Freezer? Like I want to know why. Anyway, Ruaka is definitely not winning this tournament. So, I am just going to leave that there. There is not much I can say. Even she knows this and her goal in the tournament is to beat Bozilla, who is in her block.
Rina [H.A.T.E.]
Rina is one of the most exciting prospects in professional wrestling. She is quite fun to watch. With that being said, is she winning? Hell no. But I do hope for the best. Even though… she is a HATE member.
Azusa Inaba [H.A.T.E.]
JTO Girls Champion
One thing I figured out about Azusa Inaba isn’t only signed to STARDOM. The 17 year old is currently signed to the JTO or Just Tap Out, which is a pro wrestling company that was founded and owned by Japanese Wrestling Legend TAKA Michinoku since 2019. She has been signed to both promotions from what I remember. But whatever. Like her sister Tomoka, she is not winning here.
Sareee [Freelancer]
IWGP Women’s Champion
You can say that Sareee has evolved immensely since she left the WWE. 2024 to 2025 saw Sareee reach new heights when it comes to her capabilities. The amount of great to beautiful matches in her catalog is a testament to that. The first ever Marigold World Champion and now is part of the lineage of the International Wrestling Grand Prix as IWGP Women’s Champion in New Japan Pro-Wrestling and STARDOM. She has had an incredible year of matches that will be on my people’s lists. Sareee is likely going to be reaching the finals. Sareee is awesome and seems like it’s gonna go up and up for the bright sun
Bea Priestley [Freelancer]
Bea Priestley has an interesting career overall. She was making her name in the UK scene and was a former WCPW Women’s Champion. When she was in STARDOM, the first title she captured was the World Of Stardom Championship while being signed to AEW for a cup of coffee. She won the Goddesses Of Stardom Titles twice, one of them with Jamie Hayter mind you. She won the SWA Undisputed World Women’s Championship & Artist Of Stardom Championship while managing The Empire or the United Empire. Ospreay kicked her out after the 2021 New Japan Cup. After losing her final challenge for the Red Belt against Utami Hayashishita, she would sign with WWE. Despite rising the ranks of NXT UK, NXT & SmackDown, she didn’t win anything. She returned to NJPW following her release and back in STARDOM for 5STAR GP for the first time since 2019. She is only 29 years old at the time of writing… She is not winning.
Winner of Yuria Hime vs Akira Kurogane [Mi Vida Loca]
This one does have some intrigue placed on it. There will be a match to determine who will be in the final spot. Yuria Hime and Akira Kurogane will be facing each other for this last spot. Both of these women are part of the crop of STARDOM’s rookies. Both of these ladies already have paths for themselves.
Yuria Hime seems to be on a mission to join STARS. The reason why she isn’t in STARS is because she wants to earn approval from the boss (aka Hanan) when her heart is fully content with it. She would form a tag team with STARS’ Momo Kohgo called Peach & Lily. After failing to capture the New Blood Tag Team titles, Momo Kohgo literally said that she could join STARS and they would welcome her. (And mainly because STARS need new members, but I digress.) Kohgo understands that Hime wants to be reliable and not join just like that.
Akira Kurogane is already part of the new faction, Mi Vida Loca. When Mi Vida Loca formed on the Nighter In Korakuen (Apr 24), Kurogane immediately threw her name into the ballet to join. I was surprised when they accepted her, but she definitely fits the group’s aesthetic.

Conclusion
I did my best with this lineup and here it is. I usually tend to go overboard on these things especially since anything can happen. In my BOSJ article, it got outdated very quickly because I did it too early, but it was a good time for that moment in written pieces. I tried my best with this by figuring out the matches from each of the four blocks, but I do hope that this article doesn’t become outdated. It took me a long time, but I find this written piece worth it despite my lack of knowledge. Thank you all for reading this crazy foresight and hope you check out other author’s articles on The Clubhouse and the creators on the Sickos Club Unhinged.
